Avalanche Card is operated by fintech company Rain Liquidity, which manages the app, card services, collateral assets, and payment capabilities. However, Rain is not a bank and does not custody the digital assets used to collateralize the card. Both the current US and international Card Agreements list Third National as the card issuer, and the card is issued under a Visa license. Avalanche/Ava Labs provides branding and ecosystem collaboration, but the official support center clearly states that actual card operations and customer service are handled by Rain.

Card overview

Avalanche Card uses a “digital-asset collateral plus Visa credit payment” structure. Users create a wallet in the Avalanche Card App and deposit supported assets, after which Rain calculates real-time spending power from the collateral. When a purchase occurs, the issuer first pays the merchant through the traditional Visa credit card system, and the user then settles the corresponding debt under the card agreement. The US Card Agreement explicitly defines the product as a credit card with no fixed credit limit and a 0% purchase APR. The international programme uses the Avalanche Spend Card Terms, but similarly requires the issuer to pay the merchant and the user to repay the issuer. Each account can currently apply for up to three virtual cards and one physical card, but only one virtual card and one physical card can be active at the same time.

United States：Can apply，Can use，Avalanche Card is available in many U.S. states, but residents of Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin cannot currently obtain the card.

6. New Zealand：Cannot apply，Can use，New Zealand is not currently covered for card issuance, while a valid Avalanche Card issued to an eligible user can be used at Visa-accepting merchants.

7. Ireland：Cannot apply，Can use，Ireland is outside Avalanche Card’s current issuance regions, but an eligible card can be used in Ireland wherever Visa is accepted.
