Osmosis Pay Card was a Visa crypto payment card jointly offered by the Osmosis ecosystem and Cypher. Card overview
The core structure of Osmosis Pay consists of an "Osmosis self-custody wallet" paired with a "Cypher card account." Users retain control over their existing on-chain assets; funds must be loaded into the "Card Balance" before they can be spent via the card system, meaning transactions do not directly deduct tokens from the Keplr or Leap wallet on a per-swipe basis. Card balances can also be withdrawn separately, with funds returned to the linked wallet in the form of USDC. The product relies on Cypher’s underlying card issuance and payment infrastructure. Following Cypher's acquisition by Nium on July 8, 2026, the original platform began shutting down, with new applications and card top-ups immediately halted; all active cards were cancelled on August 8, 2026, and the original Cypher platform officially closed on September 6.
