Amp Black Card

Updated: Sep 18, 2026

The Amp Black Card was a crypto-collateralized payment card formerly offered by Amp Pay. Users provided digital assets from a linked self-custody wallet as collateral for their spending limit, with the card establishing a credit line based on the USD value of the pledged assets. These assets remained in on-chain smart contracts held by the user and were utilized to settle outstanding balances only upon the occurrence of specified liquidation events, rather than being sold directly from the wallet with every transaction.

Card overview

The Amp Black Card is part of the Amp Pay self-custody wallet ecosystem, operating on a core mechanism of "collateralizing digital assets—establishing a USD credit line—making card purchases—repaying the balance or liquidating collateral if necessary." Users must provide digital asset collateral matching their spending amounts; ownership of the collateral remains with the user, and in principle, neither Amp Pay nor the card issuer acts as a traditional custodian. The product also previously allowed users to deposit funds directly into their card accounts. Amp Pay initiated a comprehensive shutdown process in 2026; the official website currently states that the application is ceasing operations and instructs users to transfer their wallet assets or export their private keys.

Users should cancel recurring payments, settle outstanding card balances, transfer wallet assets to another Solana wallet or securely export their private keys. Fees for cards already ordered will be refunded to users' Amp Pay wallets by the platform.
