The Eidoo Card was a DeFi crypto debit card from Eidoo that once connected the non-custodial Eidoo Wallet to the Visa payment network. Users could convert Bitcoin, Ethereum, or compatible tokens to EUR or GBP within the wallet, then transfer funds to the card for online purchases, in-store payments, and ATM withdrawals, with PNT crypto cashback based on card tier. The card program was discontinued on 25 January 2023; applications and continued use are no longer possible.

Cards are issued by Contis Financial Services Limited, a UK electronic money institution, and are connected to the payment network under a Visa license. Contis is currently under insolvency administration.

Card overview

Eidoo Card uses a combined structure of a non-custodial wallet and a regulated card account. Crypto assets remain under the user's control before conversion. Before spending, decentralized exchanges and EUR- and GBP-denominated stablecoins issued by Moneyfold are used to convert crypto assets into fiat currency, which is then transferred to a Visa card issued by Contis Financial Services Limited. The product had three tiers: Basic, VIP, and Black. Higher tiers required more PNT to be staked and offered higher PNT spending cashback rates; Black was a metal card. The official website still retains the old product description, but an in-app Eidoo notice states that the Contis-supported EidooCARD program ended on January 25, 2023. The related operating entities subsequently entered dissolution, liquidation, or administration proceedings.

Il progetto poteva forse essere un tempo valido, ormai il team ha spazzolato tutto quello che poteva rastrellare e ne è rimasto un prodotto assolutamente privo di valore e interesse per l'utente finale. Il livello di professionalità dello staff è inesistente, lo staff stesso sembra un gruppo di cugini di campagna... Non li consiglierei a un nemico, spero non distruggano altri progetti dopo aver devastato questo... In diverse occasioni avevamo già dato prova di quello che avrebbero fatto in futuro e così è stato alla fine. In effetti bastava seguire la storia dello staff dall'inizio per capire cosa sarebbe successo... Fate massima attenzione, evitando il progetto e chi lo ha seguito
