Luno does not currently issue a Visa or Mastercard crypto payment card. Its spending product is Luno Pay, which is available only to users in South Africa. Users scan QR codes such as Zapper and Scan to Pay in the Luno app and select crypto assets in their account to complete payments, while merchants receive South African rand. The service does not provide a physical card, virtual card number, CVV, card payments or ATM withdrawals, but can be used at online and offline merchants connected to the relevant QR code networks in South Africa.

Card overview
Luno Pay launched in South Africa in November 2024 and subsequently integrated with local payment infrastructure including MoneyBadger, Zapper, Stitch, and Scan to Pay, reaching nearly one million South African merchants. Users scan the payment QR code at a checkout or on a webpage, confirm the amount, and select an available asset in their Luno wallet. The platform settles the asset immediately without waiting for on-chain confirmation. Luno Pay does not charge a payment service fee. The usual per-transaction limit is 100,000 South African rand, while Pick n Pay has a per-transaction limit of 9,999.99 South African rand. From June 1, 2026, payments using ZARU earn 15% XAUT rewards, while payments using other supported assets earn 5% XAUT rewards. Luno's predecessor, BitX, announced a test of a Bitcoin-funded virtual card with Zazoo in 2015, but the project remained in internal testing at the time and is not a current Luno product.

Useless customer support. I have three tickets logged in the last 3 days!!! How can such an big company be this bad with customer support.

Luno Support is frustrating and the AI chatbot does not help at all! I have sent 3 emails regarding a issue i have with logging in to my account,I have my login details,Receive the OTP to my email,But then it sends another OTP to a number i do not use anymore! and a week later i still have not received a response at all to help!.I have a decent amount of money in there since i have had the account from 2014 and i am getting nowhere with support! This is also stressful ! I am worried!
