Monolith Card

Updated: Aug 7, 2026

Monolith Card was an Ethereum-based crypto debit card that has ceased operations, consisting of a non-custodial smart contract wallet and a Visa physical card. Users could self-custody ETH and ERC-20 assets, exchange supported tokens for GBP or EUR before spending, and top up the card account for online shopping, in-store payments, and ATM withdrawals. The service previously covered the UK, the European Economic Area, and some associated European regions; all cards were deactivated on October 8, 2024, and it is currently not possible to apply, top up, or spend.

Monolith (formerly TokenCard) is one of the earliest debit card platforms to bridge the Ethereum decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem with the traditional Visa payment network. The project allows users to fully control their non-custodial Ethereum wallet (holding their own private keys), while supporting instant burning, conversion, and top-up of ETH and various major ERC-20 tokens (such as USDT, USDC, DAI) into the built-in Visa debit card for daily spending and withdrawals at tens of millions of physical merchants and ATMs worldwide. It is a pioneer of Web3 "non-custodial assets + traditional commercial networks".

Card overview

Monolith, formerly known as TokenCard, was built around an Ethereum smart-contract wallet whose private keys were controlled by the user and a connected Visa debit card. Crypto assets remained non-custodial while held in the wallet. Users had to select a token, convert it into GBP or EUR, and top up a separate card balance; merchant transactions did not deduct funds directly from the on-chain wallet in real time. Historically supported top-up assets included Ethereum assets such as ETH, DAI, USDC, USDT, MATIC, MKR, GNO, KNC, and TKN. The card could be used at online and physical merchants accepting Visa and at ATMs. As regulatory requirements in the UK and EU continued to increase, the project decided to discontinue Monolith and focus on Token.com. Assets in the non-custodial wallet can still be imported into another wallet using the recovery phrase, but the card account and the app's main functions have been closed.

Unbelievable

I’ve been a huge PnC fan since the early 90s. Since iOS, I can’t remember if there has been a time where I wasn’t actively gaming or looking for a new one. I believe we may be very near a new Golden Age for adventure gaming. However, so far this has meant significant quantity of content but quality has been extremely hit and miss, especially in comparison to the 90s PnC era. That said, Monolith is one of the greatest adventure games I’ve played in decades. It can be difficult to make a game of this type hit so well without the campy elements so common to the genre, which I do appreciate but I found this extremely refreshing. Everything was there for an excellent game that truly felt like an adventure. And as a huge sci fi nerd I was absolutely impressed by the scientific creativity and respect for the player’s intelligence. I’ll be ready to pay big for a sequel or a similar style game from this company. And I can’t wait to see wheat they’ll do with improvements. Well done, creators. More please!

Fails on Day 4

I cannot get the CORE to scan the ore samples in the mine and find Guffinium. So I cannot continue. I have a full size iPad version 6. I have used the hints to the letter. What am I missing?

I did use a walkthrough

Really enjoyed this point-and-click adventure. The story is great, the art is gorgeous, and yes—I totally used a walkthrough—but honestly it made the whole thing feel like a chill little adventure.

Cannot Complete

In the swamp, my character has walked on thin air, of her own volition, up into the trees. She never returns to the game, and game. On trolls are no longer visible. This happened three times and I’m too tired of it to try for a fourth screw-up. Moving on to other games…

Great until the end

This was a great game for a great price. Lots of game play and challenging tasks and puzzles. Great graphics. Thanks for the text walkthrough. Too much unnecessary dialogue but could click through. The final part of the game after Tessa enters the Monolith should have been cut by 80%. It just dragged on and on with the same message over and over. The rest of the game was so good that I only removed 1/2 star for the interminable ending.

Just superb - point and click fans won’t be disappointed

Initially, the game was frozen at the title screen of my iPad Pro, and I deleted and reinstalled three times without success. The developers fixed the bug a couple days later, and I am so glad that I didn’t rage quit! This game is so much more sophisticated and challenging than I thought it would be. The graphics are gorgeous, the story is engaging, and frankly, this is a really low price for a game of this caliber. Strongly recommend for all point and click adventure fans.

Quality point and click, worth the price

The graphics are really nice, including characters. P&C games usually slack on character models, even when the pre-rendered world is well done, but not this one. The puzzles were intuitive and often easy, but that is better than some games where solutions make so little sense that you only find them by brute force operation(using every item on every object). overall they were challenging enough. The story is key to a good point and click, and this one has a solid story line, although a bit sad. The ending (no spoilers) has little to do in the way of solving puzzles, and was more of a walkthrough cinematic, but that was fine because the rest of the game up to that point was non-stop problem solving. My only complaint about this game is that it would occasionally crash during a cutscene, and I’d have to restart it. Fortunately, I never lost any progress, I just had to watch some cutscenes twice.
