Card overview

After completing identity verification, users can open an electronic money account in the Tap app and fund it through bank transfers, bank cards, or crypto assets. Crypto assets must first be converted into fiat currency on the platform and then transferred to the available card balance; cryptocurrency is not debited directly from an on-chain wallet when a transaction occurs. The virtual card is intended for online shopping, while the physical card supports chip, contactless payments, and ATM withdrawals. Users can freeze or unfreeze the card in the app and receive real-time transaction notifications. Tap offers six plans: Essential, Plus, Prime, Premier, Platinum, and Prestige. Higher tiers require locking the corresponding value of XTP for twelve months and can increase crypto cashback rates, monthly spending limits, and free ATM withdrawal allowances. The card can be used at merchants and ATMs that accept Mastercard, but account opening and card eligibility are restricted by country of residence.

A scam!

A scam! I opened my account and completed all the verification requirements. A few days later, I received a transfer of 1,500 USDT. Since I wasn't using the funds, I decided to put them into the Earn (staking) program, which offered a good interest rate. Before doing so, I contacted customer support, and they assured me that I could withdraw the funds at any time. However, on Saturday I decided to withdraw my money, and the funds simply disappeared. My account balance dropped to zero. Customer support was unable to help. Apparently, nobody works on weekends, so you leave your money with them, and if something goes wrong, there's no one available to assist you. It wasn't until Monday that customer service replied, saying they would investigate what had happened. Then, a few hours later, I received an email asking me to submit all my KYC documents again, without providing any explanation about where my funds are. I do not recommend opening an account with TAP. It is an absolute disgrace!
Official reply
Hi Greg, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that our support team operates 7 days a week, including weekends. While response times may occasionally be longer during busy periods, your case remained under active review throughout. We understand that the temporary unavailability of your funds caused concern. However, as confirmed by our team, your assets were not lost and the matters raised were subsequently resolved. The additional verification request you received formed part of our regulatory obligations and account security procedures. These checks may occasionally be required to protect customers and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. We appreciate that the situation was frustrating and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Should you wish to discuss your experience further, our team remains available to assist. Best regards, Tap Team

They transferred my portfolio to themselves!!!!!!

I just logged in to my account to see 6,508 XTP mysteriously transferred via a transaction in March 2026 which I did not authorise. On trying to track it there was no information available so I contacted through the get help function. I was told quite bluntly that they transferred it to themselves as an inactivity fee!!!! Absolute scammers, no wonder they struggled to get regulated. Not only is that ‘fee’ disproportionate and illegal you have a duty to inform me of upcoming fees. Regardless the point of investments is to hold them until the time is right for you to sell, and I was holding because their coin tanked so much I had no choice but to wait out a hopeful rebound. This is just disgusting profiteering and I don’t believe it’s legal. Watch out they can and will access your money at any time without your knowledge and you’ll find out by accident when it’s too late and it’s all gone in their greedy pockets. Reporting to GFSC and every relevant authority.
Official reply
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your experience. The transaction you are referring to relates to an inactivity fee applied in accordance with our Fees & Limits schedule and Terms & Conditions, which are available to all customers within the app and on our website. The fee was not a transfer initiated by Tap for its own benefit, nor was it an unauthorised transaction. We understand that fees can be frustrating, particularly during periods when markets are performing poorly. However, inactivity fees are disclosed as part of the account terms and are applied automatically where the applicable conditions are met. We take regulatory compliance and customer transparency seriously and would be happy to review your case further should you wish to contact our support team directly. Kind regards, Tap Team

Tap Stakeholder sending Vulgar Threats to a Customer

A stakeholder/managing partner of Tap sent vulgar and threatening messages to a Tap customer in a vulnerable situation. Upon raising these serious issues to Tap, I have received nothing but radio silence. -- Edit after response below. The individual mentioned has a well documented history with Tap and verified social media accounts. Tap have refused to engage regarding this situation since 2024 and this is the first time they've taken a stance on the matter. Please make your own decisions.
Official reply
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Tap does not have any “managing partner” or representative who would contact customers in this manner. Messages containing threats, abusive language, or inappropriate behaviour are not associated with Tap and do not reflect how we operate as a company. Based on the information provided, this appears to be a third-party impersonator with no affiliation to Tap. We strongly advise against sharing any personal information, account details, or funds with anyone claiming to represent Tap outside of our official communication channels. For your security, always ensure communications are sent through the Tap app or from official @withtap.com email addresses. Kind regards, The Tap Team
