SecondFi Card is a Visa virtual debit card issued through a partnership between EMURGO's SecondFi self-custody financial platform and Wirex. At launch, users could transfer USDC, USDT or EURC on the Base network to the card balance for spending online and at physical Visa merchants, with support for Apple Pay and Google Pay. SecondFi experienced a serious wallet security incident in June 2026, after which the platform entered isolation mode and decided to permanently cease normal operations. SecondFi Card can no longer be applied for or used normally.

Card overview
SecondFi evolved from the Yoroi Wallet and is EMURGO's self-custodial neofinance platform for multi-chain users. Card services were officially announced with Wirex in May 2026 and went live with the new SecondFi app in June. The live version is a virtual Visa debit card issued by Wirex, activated after completing Wirex KYC, and allows transferring stablecoins from the main wallet to the card balance on the Base network; a physical card was planned for a later phase. From June 21 to 23, 2026, a security flaw related to SecondFi wallet generation led to the theft of approximately 16.1 million ADA from 374 wallets. On July 6, the team confirmed that the platform would not resume normal operations even after a security audit; in mid-July, the app entered Quarantine Mode, disabling all normal transaction functions.

Notice: SecondFi announced on 2026/07/06 that it would not resume normal operations, affecting SecondFi Wallet, SecondFi Card and the platform's regular transaction functions. In mid-July 2026, the application entered Quarantine Mode, allowing users only to view balances and wallet addresses, without the ability to send, swap or move funds.

This new app is a joke. All I can see is just my portfolio balance after the new app being under maintaince for a while. No staking, no trading, no nothing like they advertise. Why not state that staking and trading is not available yet. On top of all this, ADA keeps dropping like a rock.
