Official and company information

Issuer identity and company credentials

UltimoPay handles crypto asset wallets, exchange, application entry, and bank account loading services. The public general terms only describe the contracting party as the "UltimoPay group of companies," without listing a unified legal company name or registration number. The actual USD accounts and cards are provided by the Joint Development Bank in Laos, and the card terms explicitly list it as the issuing bank. The old platform is currently being migrated in phases to Ultimox.

Card overview

After registering an UltimoPay account, users must provide their occupation, marital status, contact number, address in English, and identity-document details, sign the bank account-opening documents, and submit an identity document and a selfie holding it. After approval and payment of 600 US dollars, Joint Development Bank opens a US dollar account for the user and delivers a physical card, with 150 US dollars credited to the bank-account balance. Users first deposit and exchange crypto assets in UltimoPay Wallet, then choose either a free loading method with a 72-hour wait or same-day loading for a 1% fee. The card supports online, in-person, and ATM transactions. However, its partner bank has been subject to EU financial-transaction restrictions since May 14, 2026, creating substantial instability for card use and funding channels in Europe.

Negative Reviews are not accurate

I am a user not affiliated in any way but the negative reviews here are not accurate. Yes there is a fee to open the account and receive the card but that is a one off and is because of the offshore account that is created for you to give you privacy. That financial and spending privacy (through Visa) is worth every penny in my view. Yes as of today the card is blocked in EU and UK because of blanket sanctions on Russia - nothing to do with Ultimo or what they can control. They are currently looking at compliant workarounds. My own experience is that the off ramping process is smooth and low fees and now with an enhanced UI with perps, swaps and loans as well as the card services. If you value privacy I dont know of another alternative.

Don't even think about it

Don't even think about it - you will lose your money. They operate through JDB Laos - this institution was completely removed from VISA due to EU sanctions. The card does not work absolutely anywhere. Check - the JDB app is completely removed from the Google and Apple stores. It is impossible to return the deposited money. UltimaPay is lying that this will be resolved soon - after 10 years, when will the sanctions due to the war end?

Been enjoying all the features of the Ultimopay card, especially when it comes to currency exchanges to the cards wallet. Even with the 600 fee to own this card, it is worth it. Been using for almost a year now, and I've experienced only positive transaction use. Thanks 👍

Ultimopay is as advertised

Did some research and decided to go with Ultimopay.io. Did the onboarding which was fairly typical KYC and painless. They deliver what they offer. Card took a bit longer to arrive than expected. But you pay the $600 and get $150 ready to use on the VISA debit card. I am able to do crypto transfers and then move to USD and then the card. They offer immediate USD transfers to the card at 1% fee or you can wait 72 hours for free. They make their money that way and on crypto to fiat exchanges at 3%. Card usage also incurs a 0.75% fee. JDB Bank app available for reviewing transactions as well as via their website. I like that it works and handles popular crypto like Tether (USDT) on multiple networks, BTC and Solana. The initial setup fee is a bit high, but their ongoing fees seem to be more reasonable than others I have seen.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - DO RESEARCH

Beware of this company, they advertise themselves as an cryptp debit card alternative, which it sounds attractive at first. But only after making a long identity check process, they say the cost of the debit card is $600 USD. Yes, you read that right! Not a deposit, not a credit, just the price for the plastic Visa card. Worst than that, their website doesn't have an option to delete your account automatically, and when you contact their support team they reply back saying that the account will be automatically deleted after 3-6 months of being dormant. Basically, there is no way to know if they delete it or not. Meanwhile they keep your data. Not a trust worthy process, and give a very bad impression for users in my opinion.
