Which Virtual Cards Can Be Used to Pay for Claude Pro?

For users without a suitable international bank card, subscribing to Claude Pro with a virtual card can be more complicated than registering a Claude account itself.

A Visa or Mastercard logo on the card only means that the card is connected to the relevant card network. Whether Anthropic accepts it also depends on the issuing country, BIN characteristics, billing address, recurring-payment capability, 3-D Secure, and the payment system’s risk controls at that moment.

As of July 27, 2026, Anthropic does not publish a “Claude Pro virtual card whitelist.” The information currently available can broadly be divided into two categories: cards whose official websites directly mention Claude Pro, and cards that merely state they support software subscriptions or recurring payments. The strength of the evidence is different, so the two should not be treated as equivalent.

“Prioritize” is not a guarantee of success. The advantage of Bybit and Wirex is simply that their official websites directly present Claude Pro as a use case, giving them clearer evidence than the other cards. Final payment can still fail because of region, BIN, or mismatched billing details.

How Does Claude Pro Actually Charge the Card?

When purchasing Pro or Max through the Claude website, Anthropic accepts credit and debit cards. Users go to Settings, Billing, select an upgrade plan, and enter their card details. The subscription renews automatically after the billing period, so virtual cards that support only one-time transactions are not suitable.

Another option is to subscribe through the Claude iOS or Android app. In that case, the merchant collecting the payment is no longer Anthropic but Apple App Store or Google Play. The virtual card must first be accepted by Apple or Google, and the account region must also match the payment information.

These are two separate payment paths. A card may fail on the Claude website but work when linked to the App Store, or the opposite may happen. App-store billing does not change Claude’s regional policy and cannot automatically make an account in an unsupported region eligible.

What Kind of Virtual Card Is Suitable for a Long-Term Subscription?

First, the card number needs to remain usable over time. Claude Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. One-time virtual cards, cards that become invalid immediately after payment, and temporary cards whose numbers change frequently may stop working at the next billing cycle even if the first payment succeeds. Refunds can also become difficult because merchants usually return funds to the original card.

The second requirement is recurring billing. If the card documentation mentions Recurring Payment, Subscription Payment, Card-on-File, or Merchant-Initiated Transaction, that indicates the card is designed to support subsequent automatic renewals. Simply stating that the card “supports online shopping” is not enough.

3-D Secure also matters. Some transactions require SMS codes, confirmation in a banking app, or other identity verification. If the card does not support 3DS, or the user cannot receive the verification request, payment will often stop at the authentication stage.

Finally, there is the billing address. Anthropic requires the name, country, street address, and postal code to match the records held by the issuing institution. The billing address provided by the virtual-card platform is the address that should be used for payment. Randomly finding a U.S. address online, or copying a generic template from a seller, can instead trigger risk controls.

The issuing country and the user’s actual location must also comply with Anthropic’s service requirements. The regions currently published as supported by Claude.ai do not include mainland China. Simply obtaining an overseas virtual card does not change a user’s service eligibility.

Bybit Card: Claude Pro Appears Directly on the Official Website

Bybit Card is one of the cards with relatively clear evidence. Bybit lists Claude Pro together with ChatGPT Plus, Netflix, Spotify, TradingView, and other services in its subscription rewards documentation, and requires users to check out directly on the merchant’s website using Bybit Card.

This detail matters. It shows that Bybit actually includes Claude Pro within its subscription use cases rather than merely claiming that the card works “globally.”

Bybit Card supports online payments, the card number can be stored by subscription merchants, and spending is funded from fiat or crypto assets in the user’s account. From a product-design perspective, it has the basic capabilities required for both the initial payment and later renewals.

However, an official promotion is not a payment guarantee from Anthropic. Bybit itself also notes that merchants may decline transactions because the card is prepaid or virtual, the issuing country does not meet the merchant’s requirements, or the user’s IP location does not match the billing region.

There is another situation that can easily be misinterpreted: no failed transaction appears at all in the Bybit app. That does not necessarily mean the card is fine. Anthropic or its payment provider may have blocked the transaction before the authorization request ever reached Bybit.

If a user can legitimately apply for Bybit Card in their real place of residence and use the billing address registered by the platform, it can be placed among the higher-priority options. For the first attempt, load only enough for one billing period, plus a small buffer for tax, FX, and pre-authorization.

Wirex One Card: Also Has Claude Pro-Specific Documentation

The subscription benefits page for Wirex One also directly lists Claude Pro together with ChatGPT Plus, Perplexity Pro, Bloomberg, Financial Times, and other services. Eligible users can receive a certain percentage of rewards after paying for these subscriptions with Wirex One Card.

Wirex cards are designed for long-term spending and subscription use cases. They can use stablecoins or other supported assets as the source of funds and support both online transactions and subsequent automatic charges.

It is important to distinguish “can pay” from “qualifies for rewards.” Subscription rewards are usually linked to user tier, asset holdings, or the percentage of WPAY held. Failing to meet reward conditions does not mean the card cannot make the payment, and qualifying for rewards does not mean Anthropic will automatically accept the card.

Wirex cards issued in different regions may also use different issuing structures and BINs. Before applying, users should confirm which version is available in their current region, and use the real billing address registered in the card account when paying.

Based on the currently available public information, Wirex One and Bybit Card belong in the same tier: Claude Pro appears directly on the official website, making them higher-priority candidates, but they are still subject to real-time risk controls.

MetaMask, KAST, and RedotPay: The Functionality Is Sufficient, but Claude Compatibility Requires Testing

These three cards do not directly name Claude Pro in the relevant official documentation, but their support for recurring subscriptions is described fairly clearly. Existing cardholders can test them. There is no need to rush into opening one solely because of a “success tutorial.”

MetaMask Card

MetaMask Card can be used with subscription merchants that accept Mastercard, and users can view and manage recurring charges in the card-management interface. Official examples include Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Spotify.

Its card number can remain active long term, merchants can store the card, and purchases can be funded from supported assets in the wallet. From a technical perspective, these capabilities are sufficient to cover the Claude Pro subscription model.

The limitation is straightforward: MetaMask does not explicitly state that Claude Pro will definitely work. Payment still depends on the application region, actual BIN, billing address, and Anthropic’s review. A more accurate description is “meets subscription requirements,” rather than “officially supports Claude.”

KAST Card

KAST documentation directly refers to streaming services, SaaS, travel memberships, and software subscriptions. Claude Pro is a typical SaaS subscription, so KAST does not have an obvious functional gap in recurring billing.

However, KAST may use different programs depending on region, account tier, and card product. One user’s KAST Card succeeding does not mean every KAST BIN will pass Anthropic.

If you already have the card, you can test with a small amount. If you are considering applying only for Claude Pro, first calculate issuance, funding, and FX costs. Sometimes the card works, but the total cost is not attractive.

RedotPay Card

RedotPay Crypto Card Review 2026 — Stablecoin Spending in 100+ Countries

RedotPay subscription documentation mentions automatic charges for Netflix, Spotify, iCloud, cloud storage, AI tools, and similar services. After the merchant stores the card, it can continue initiating transactions in subsequent billing periods. This indicates that RedotPay has the recurring-payment capability needed for Claude Pro.

RedotPay also provides a card billing address and a 3DS transaction mechanism, while newly issued cards are mainly billed and settled in U.S. dollars. Judged purely by product functionality, it is suitable for software subscriptions.

The limitation comes from issuance eligibility. Under the official rules verified when the original article was prepared, mainland China, the United States, and certain other regions were on the card-issuance restriction list. Residents of those regions could not normally apply for the virtual card or register those regions as the card’s billing address. Some articles online still describe RedotPay as something “mainland Chinese users can apply for directly,” but that information is outdated.

Therefore, RedotPay is suitable only for users who meet its current issuance requirements. If you cannot legitimately apply, do not buy another person’s verified account or a so-called ready-made card.

Crypto.com: The Prepaid Virtual Card Can Be Tested, but Do Not Use a One-Time Card

Once a Crypto.com Prepaid Card is approved and funded, it can be used directly for online purchases. The platform has also previously offered subscription reimbursements for services such as Spotify and Netflix, indicating that this type of virtual prepaid card can process at least some recurring transactions.

The issue is its “prepaid” classification. Anthropic accepts credit and debit cards, but payment systems may still restrict certain prepaid-card BINs. Crypto.com also notes that some subscription merchants accept only credit cards and not prepaid cards.

Therefore, existing Crypto.com Prepaid Card holders can try a small payment. If the only purpose is Claude Pro, there is no need to place it ahead of Bybit, Wirex, MetaMask, or KAST.

Also note that Crypto.com Prepaid Card and One-Time Card are different products. The One-Time Card number is intended for a single transaction, and the official documentation clearly states that it is not suitable for multiple purchases or recurring payments. Using it for Claude Pro means that even if the first authorization happens to succeed, later renewals cannot be completed normally.

Why Does the Same Brand Work for Some Users but Fail for Others?

Differences in U-card payment results are common. The most frequent explanation is not that someone is lying, but that the two users do not actually have identical cards.

The same platform may use different issuing institutions in different countries and may change BINs over time. The card’s issuing country, prepaid or debit classification, 3DS capability, and merchant acceptance rate can all change accordingly. A successful transaction from last year may not be relevant to a card newly issued today.

Billing information is another common source of error. If the name, street address, postal code, or country does not match the issuer’s records, the transaction may be declined. Risk increases further if the IP location, Claude account region, phone-number country, issuing country, and billing address conflict with one another.

Prepaid-card classification is another variable. Some merchants may say that they accept “credit and debit cards,” while the actual payment system blocks certain prepaid BINs. A card working on other international websites does not mean it will necessarily work with Anthropic.

Insufficient balance can be less obvious. In addition to the displayed Claude Pro price, the transaction may include tax, FX spread, cross-border fees, issuer-platform fees, or a small pre-authorization. If the card balance only equals the listed subscription price, authorization can fail because it is short by a small amount.

After a Payment Fails, How Can You Tell Where the Problem Is?

Do not keep clicking the payment button repeatedly. Multiple failures in a short period may cause Anthropic, the acquirer, or the issuer to tighten risk controls further.

The first step is to confirm that you are actually located in a Claude-supported region and that your account region does not obviously conflict with that. A virtual card is not a tool for bypassing regional policies.

Next, verify the card number, expiration date, CVC, cardholder name, and complete billing address. Use the address recorded by the virtual-card platform and do not change the country or postal code yourself.

Then check the card settings to confirm that online payments, international payments, recurring subscriptions, and 3DS are enabled. Also review per-transaction, daily, and monthly limits. The balance should not merely cover the listed subscription price; leave some room for tax and pre-authorization.

After the payment fails, open the card app and check the transaction history:

  • If it shows Declined, the request reached the issuer, and you can ask the platform for the decline code;

  • If it shows Pending, wait for the status to update and do not submit again;

  • If a 3DS notification appears, complete the verification and then check the final result;

  • If there is no transaction record at all, the issue may have occurred on Anthropic’s side or at its payment provider.

When contacting the card platform, do not ask only “Why did the payment fail?” More useful questions are: Did you receive an authorization request from Anthropic or Claude? What is the exact decline code? Does the card allow recurring subscriptions? Does it support foreign digital-service merchants? Is this merchant on any restricted list?

If the Website Payment Fails, Is App Store or Google Play Worth Trying?

It can be tried, but the payment recipient changes.

After subscribing through the Claude app, Apple or Google handles billing, receipts, and subscription cancellation. The virtual card must first pass the relevant app store’s own checks, and the Apple ID or Google Play account region must also match the payment information.

Some cards may indeed fail when paying Anthropic directly but work when linked to an app store; the reverse can also happen. It is not accurate to say that one path generally has a higher success rate.

Before switching payment channels, also confirm that there is no active subscription already running through the website. Web, Apple, and Google subscriptions are independent. Having more than one active at the same time can result in duplicate charges.

Claude Pro and Anthropic API Should Be Treated Separately

Claude Pro is a chat subscription for individual users. Anthropic API and Console are separately billed developer services.

Buying Claude Pro does not include an equivalent amount of API credit, and funding an API account does not automatically activate Claude Pro. Claude Max, Team, and Enterprise may also use different billing rules.

Therefore, “this card successfully subscribed to Claude Pro” only proves that it completed that particular transaction. It should not be generalized into “supports all Anthropic products.”

How Should You Choose in the End?

If you look only at currently verifiable official product information, the selection can be simplified.

Bybit Card and Wirex One Card belong in the first tier because Claude Pro appears directly on their official websites. This is currently the clearest product-specific evidence.

MetaMask Card, KAST Card, and RedotPay Card belong in the second tier. They clearly support recurring subscriptions, SaaS, or AI-tool charges, but do not make a separate commitment regarding Claude Pro. RedotPay also requires the user to meet its current regional eligibility requirements first.

Crypto.com Prepaid Card belongs in the third tier. It supports online spending and some subscriptions, but Anthropic may restrict some prepaid-card BINs. Crypto.com One-Time Card is unsuitable for any Claude subscription that requires automatic renewal.

The important question is not whether someone claims “100% success,” but whether the card can be legitimately obtained in the user’s actual region, provides an accurate billing address, supports 3DS and recurring charges, and can still receive refunds before the original card becomes invalid.

For the first payment, load only enough for one subscription period, plus a small buffer for tax and pre-authorization. After the first transaction succeeds, observe the next automatic renewal. Only repeated successful renewals show that the card is truly suitable for long-term use.
