Bitso Card is a Mastercard crypto-friendly debit card launched by Bitso for residents of Mexico, with virtual and physical cards. The card actually uses the Mexican peso balance in the user's Bitso/Nvio account and does not directly deduct or automatically sell crypto assets during merchant transactions. It previously supported online shopping, in-store card payments, subscription payments and ATM withdrawals, with management through the Bitso app. Bitso Card was fully discontinued on May 26, 2025 and can no longer be applied for or used.

Card overview
Bitso Card formally launched in the Mexican market in 2023 with digital and physical cards connected to the Mastercard network. Unlike a Crypto Card that directly deducts cryptocurrency, it primarily settled transactions using the MXN electronic money balance in Bitso Wallet. Users could add Mexican pesos to the account through SPEI and other methods, then use the card at online, in-person, and international Mastercard merchants. The digital version was primarily intended for online shopping and subscriptions, while the physical version added contactless payments and ATM withdrawals. Pomelo provided card-issuing technology, physical card production and delivery, virtual card infrastructure, and risk controls. Bitso changed its product strategy in 2025 and permanently discontinued Bitso Card on May 26.

Notice: Bitso Card ceased service on 2025/05/26. Both digital and physical cards were permanently deactivated, and all subsequent purchase and payment requests could no longer be processed. Bitso shifted its business focus towards financial products that help users accumulate and manage assets. Existing cardholders were instructed to replace subscription and recurring payment methods linked to Bitso Card before the deactivation date.

Muy mal lugar para invertir tenía muchas posturas abiertas en criptomonedas y acciones, y de repente me las cerraron, con pérdidas, la mayoría. Pero ya me han hecho varias cosas malas, un retiro de dinero se perdió y no me resolvieron nada; y otro envío de criptomonedas que hice, se perdió y no me resolvieron nada tampoco!
