For Android users, crypto payment cards that support Google Pay can be significantly more convenient. Once a virtual card is activated, if it can be added to Google Wallet, users can make contactless payments with their phones in stores and check out on websites and apps that support Google Pay.
Common crypto payment cards that have explicitly offered Google Pay support include MetaMask Card, Bybit Card, Nexo Card, Gnosis Pay Card, Wirex Card, Solayer Pay, RedotPay, and Coinbase Card issued in certain regions.
However, “supports Google Pay” does not mean that every regional or card version can be added. Actual availability usually depends on the issuing region, the specific card version, account status, and whether Google Wallet is available locally.
MetaMask Card
MetaMask Card can be added to Google Wallet and used for both online and in-store payments.
However, MetaMask Card is not available in every region. Even though the product itself supports Google Pay, users still need to confirm whether they can apply from their location and whether their account is eligible for card issuance.
Bybit Card
Bybit Card supports Google Pay. Once the virtual card is activated, eligible users can add it to Google Wallet through the Bybit App.
Bybit Card may use different issuing programs in different regions. Support should therefore be determined by the features actually shown in the user's account rather than relying solely on other users' experiences.
Nexo Card
Nexo Card supports Google Wallet, and users can add it from the card page in the Nexo App.
Nexo Card offers different spending modes. Google Wallet is only the payment interface; the balance or credit facility actually used still depends on the card settings in the user's Nexo account.
Gnosis Pay Card
Gnosis Pay Card can be added to Google Wallet and used at physical merchants that accept contactless payments, as well as for online payments.
Gnosis Pay is currently available mainly in selected parts of Europe and Latin America. Supporting Google Pay does not mean that users in every country are eligible to apply.
Wirex Card
Some regional versions of Wirex Card support Google Pay. Eligible virtual and physical cards can be added to Google Wallet.
Wirex may use different issuers and card programs in different markets. The most direct way to determine support is to check whether an add-to-wallet option appears in the user's account.
Solayer Pay
The Solayer Pay virtual card supports Google Pay and can be used for online and in-store payments.
Users usually need to complete registration, identity verification, and card activation before use. Whether the card can be applied for still depends on the regions supported by the platform at that time.
RedotPay
The RedotPay virtual card can be added to Google Pay.
After activating the card, some users may need to wait for a period of time for the card information to synchronize with Google Wallet. Repeated attempts to add the card within a short period may instead trigger risk controls.
RedotPay's Google Pay functionality is also subject to regional restrictions and should not be interpreted as being available worldwide.
Coinbase Card
Coinbase Card is a special case.
Some U.S. versions support Google Pay, while Coinbase Card versions issued in the UK and Europe may not support mobile wallets. The specific product and issuing region therefore need to be assessed separately.
The fact that U.S. users can add the card does not mean that Coinbase Card in other regions offers the same functionality.
Support Overview
| Card | Google Pay Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MetaMask Card | Supported | Limited to supported regions and eligible accounts |
| Bybit Card | Supported | Depends on the specific issuing program |
| Nexo Card | Supported | Requires eligibility for Nexo Card |
| Gnosis Pay Card | Supported | Mainly available in selected parts of Europe and Latin America |
| Wirex Card | Supported | Regional versions may differ |
| Solayer Pay | Supported | Requires KYC and card activation |
| RedotPay | Supported | Restricted in some regions; synchronization may take time after activation |
| Coinbase Card | Supported in some regions | Some U.S. versions support it; UK and European versions may not |
Why Does Adding the Card Fail Even Though It Says Google Pay Is Supported?
This is quite common.
The same brand may use different issuers, BINs, and regional versions. An identical card name does not mean that the underlying issuing structure is the same.
Adding a card may fail for the following reasons:
- The card has not yet been activated
- KYC or address verification has not been completed
- The card information has not yet synchronized with Google Wallet
- The Google account region does not match the card's issuing region
- NFC is not enabled on the phone
- Google Wallet or Google Play services are outdated
- The card has been frozen or online payments are restricted
- The name, address, or postal code does not match
- Repeated attempts within a short period have triggered system risk controls
Successful setup by other users should only be treated as a reference and cannot be directly applied to your own card.
Can a Virtual Card Be Added Directly?
Most crypto payment cards that support Google Pay allow virtual cards to be added.
MetaMask Card, Bybit Card, Nexo Card, Solayer Pay, and RedotPay all provide virtual-card use cases, but the setup process is not identical. Some can be added with one tap from the issuer's app, some require the card number to be entered manually, and others require users to wait until card activation information has synchronized.
The fact that a virtual card has already been generated does not mean it can necessarily be added immediately.
How Can I Check Before Adding the Card?
The simplest method is to first check the card management page in the issuer's app.
If an “Add to Google Pay” or “Add to Google Wallet” button appears directly on the page, it usually indicates that the current card version meets the support requirements. If no such option appears, check the official help page for the relevant region to confirm whether manual addition is supported.
Do not repeatedly retry in a short period, and do not use false names, addresses, or regional information. Inconsistent information can not only cause the card addition to fail but may also increase the risk of account restrictions.
Google Pay Support Does Not Mean the Card Is Suitable for Long-Term Use
Google Pay is only a payment method. It does not indicate that a card has low fees, few restrictions, or low risk.
When choosing a crypto payment card, users should also review card issuance fees and annual fees, transaction fees, foreign exchange fees, crypto asset conversion costs, eligible application regions, KYC requirements, refund policies, and whether subscription payments are supported.
For long-term use, it is also advisable to review records of account freezes, card suspensions, and failed transactions, confirm that the issuer and operating entity are clearly identified, and check whether the product is still being issued normally.
The fact that a card can be added to Google Wallet only means that it supports mobile payments. It does not replace an assessment of fees, regional availability, and risk.
